On November 21-22, 2024, the EUROPOLITEHNICUS 2024 Invention and Innovation Fair took place in Bucharest, a grand event dedicated to innovators and inventors from various fields, organized by the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA of Bucharest. The primary goal of this event was to promote innovative ideas and new technological solutions.
The fair brought together hundreds of participants from Romania and various countries across all continents, including Thailand, the Republic of Moldova, the USA, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Croatia, Poland, India, and the Philippines. They presented 267 inventions, transforming the event into an impressive showcase of technological excellence and applied innovation.
Participants exhibited inventions, prototypes, technical solutions, research, and discoveries addressing needs in various sectors such as information technology, the automotive industry, medicine, and many others.
Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu participated with three invention patents and a research project, as follows:
- Patent no. 13077/30.10.2020 – Process for manufacturing construction bricks using industrial waste. Authors: Popescu Georgeta Luminița, Marica Mădălina Mirabela, Abagiu Traian Alexandru, Predeanu Georgeta, Racoceanu Cristinel, Cruceru Mihai, Diaconu Bogdan Marian, Dițescu Corneliu Laviniu, Dondoe Valentin, Anghelescu Lucica.
- Patent no. 129783/30.03.2018 – Process for obtaining compacting masses with binder-based hardening. Authors: Popescu Georgeta Luminița, Marica Mădălina Mirabela, Abagiu Traian Alexandru, Predeanu Georgeta, Racoceanu Cristinel, Cruceru Mihai, Popescu Cristinel, Diaconu Bogdan Marian, Ciofu Florin Cristian, Cazalbașu Ramona, Anghelescu Lucica.
- Patent no. 129872/27.04.2018 – Process for obtaining thermal insulating concrete based on heavy ash from power plants. During this fair, the academic achievements of Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu were recognized with a gold medal for all three invention patents and a silver medal for the presented research project.
Constantin Brâncuși University of Târgu Jiu won the Grand Trophy EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024 for Patent no. 13077/30.10.2020 – Process for manufacturing construction bricks using industrial waste, a recognition of excellence in scientific research carried out by the research team from the Faculty of Engineering, led by Prof. Dr. Eng. Luminița Georgeta Popescu.
We extend our sincere congratulations to the organizers, especially to Prof. Dr. Eng. Augustin Semenescu, Vice-President of EURO POLITEHNICUS 2024, for the excellent organization of this event, for the efforts made to bring together researchers and technology promoters from around the world, and, last but not least, for the success achieved in promoting innovation and technology, providing an ideal framework for the exchange of ideas and discoveries.

Euro Politehnicus: A Major and High-Caliber Scientific Event Organized by High-Caliber People at a High-Caliber University – POLITEHNICA Bucharest.
I am delighted to be part of the academic community of POLITEHNICA Bucharest as a founding member of the Doctoral Field Engineering and Management, an associate professor, and an accredited Intellectual Property Advisor (Level 3) by OSIM and EPO.
Euro Politehnicus was born out of the desire to make a positive impact (which it has successfully achieved) and to complement the European landscape of international invention competitions and specialized exhibitions.
At its first edition of Euro Politehnicus in 2024, we received significant recognition awarded to Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu – namely, the “Medicine Award” – for the three functional prototypes of anti-sedentary chairs that we physically presented.
The Rector of POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Mr. Mihnea Costoiu, together with the Vice President of the Exhibition, Mr. Augustin Semenescu, have always stood by and continue to support valuable people in the field of invention, including myself.
I believe that “The only way to do extraordinary things is to love what you do,” and “I deeply appreciate people who recognize the true value of others”.
This is precisely what happens at Euro Politehnicus, starting in 2024, as well as at POLITEHNICA Bucharest – both in the present and the future.
